The empanada is where this kitchen starts. Tabes Kök opened in 2015 aiming to bake the best pasties on the market from a recipe the house keeps to itself, and the fillings range from beef and shellfish to feta with spinach, chicken or cheese, each also made vegan. The house favourite, as the site has it, is pastel de choclo — a corn pie over minced beef, grilled chicken, egg and basil. The menu also carries a completo with sauerkraut and home-made mayonnaise, a lomito of sliced pork loin with avocado, and a ceviche where leche de tigre is poured over the raw fish moments before it reaches the table. The kitchen caters events too. Hours are 15:00–22:00 Wednesday and Thursday, 15:00–23:00 Friday, 13:00–23:00 Saturday and 13:00–18:00 Sunday. Tatiana Benitez runs it.
